My Grandma is of Olmec Heritage. She spoke Popoluca Oluteca, now extinct. La Lengua Mixe - Zoque

One of the main problems with understanding the olmec and the maya is that the archeologists are using the wrong start date. The maya never believed in a start date of 3114 BC, but rather 3640 BC. They believed this to be the time of the great flood, as described in their stories and history. By using this as their start date, their dating system begins to make perfect sense.

The vast amount of cultural appropriation attempts in the comments is laughable.

wow after reading a few comments why do PEOPLE get frustrated about race colour and creed and not just respect one another and be curious and maybe learn from our ancient ancestors without them we would not be here

For me they always looked like babys heads. If you ever seen a new newborn baby with indigenous Mexican blood they look exactly like that fresh out of the womb.

The Mexican Oaxaca Tribe are short people with thick lips, flat nose and big heads. Exactly alike. Strong resemblence. No sense in having to go chinese or black.

Modern circuit boards are layered with insulation separating the layers. The patterned serpentine stones sperated by clay in alternating layers smacks of a type of circuit board. Would be nice to know what the pattern of each layer looked like and if there were any stones connecting the layers through the clay. The site location on an island in the middle of a river adds to the running water theme. Very interesting indeed...

He only mentions one head that has 7 braids, also native Americans art is has the theme of exaggerated features. Just cause there’s minimal amount of similarities to other cultures it doesn’t mean they are from the same area, now East Asia does seem to have a lot of similarities with the olmecs so I’m sticking to that.

We say we have ideas about the beginning of the universe, but can’t even solve the beginning of human civilization 😂

Has anyone given any thought to the fact that the stone that was chosen for the art work could have been a message in it's self ? My Daughter is an artist and says to me all the time dad look deeper the work is not just in the colors but also in the paint the canvas as well as the frame. Each part has a story and each part is a statement. The level of skill in each part says many different things . Some of the hardest stones known to man ... could this be a statement ... ya think ... ? ! . It could also be a question ? ! . asking through time ... " How would you do this ? what would you use to do this ? " and in these questions a clue ... these are just some thoughts like to hear some of yours ... insert here ;)

My first time in this area was 1971--a very different Mexico then--most of the presenters truly don't know what is still sitting in that area under growth and dirt --perhaps miles of ruins in spots--well worth the trip if you are able but plan to spend months--you won't find the still remote and covered ruins until u learn the area--
