The ice engine industry is in a huge turmoil. Not only from EV disruptions but total sales per year peaked in 2017, new cars are super expensive so the average ownership in the US is 12 1/2 years, and the Stealerships hammer on ridiculous markups and fees to consumers...

I guess we’ll have to see how Toyota’s profits go in the next couple of quarters to get a better idea of how this is impacting them. I’m sort of surprised - they seem to be doing better than other legacy auto.

Toy Oh Tata serves them right, they sold their Tesla shares and ran away from the Tesla partnership almost 20 years ago. It's hilarious to watch these arrogant companies topple, did it to themselves. Yes Toyota needs to sort out it's EV offerings but still has to provide vehicles relevant to it's many worldwide markets that will never have charging infrastructure.
