A place that doesn't have a lot of people that gives you headaches constantly, and where people don't constantly bother you. Sounds like a dream.

Did you know we live in South Dakota and there are actually people who live there. We lived just outside Rapid City, SD. Spectacular place to live and much of the reason are the quality people who live there - many who grew up on a ranch or farm. Many who want to get away from mainstream America today that has so many problems. I worked and retired from the police department in Rapid City - excellent standards and excellent people. Did you know there was a stretch of three years we didn’t have a murder in the City. Think about it - the Black Hills Biker Rally is there every year, thousands if not a million or more tourists a year. Mt. Rushmore, Crazy House Monument, Wind Cave, excellent downhill skiing, fly fishing, hunting, over 600 miles of snowmobile trails, Badlands, quality camping, Michelson trail (100 miles)— and the list goes on. SD doesn’t NEED more people, they simply want the RIGHT PEOPLE who care about neighbors, community and our Nation. —- Question - has the person who made this video EVER BEEN TO SD? LOL

My wife and I along with some friends visited South Dakota in August 2023. What we saw was beautiful yet desolate. The people are Very kind hearted

The weather. I grew up in eastern SD. The wind blows daily. Has to be the windiest state in the Union. Plus, it is cold. It is situated in the jet stream for constant and fast changes in the weather. I remember going into a cafe, it was sunny and 62 degrees. One hour later, I left, it was 30 degrees and snowing, wind blowing. That usually happens in the spring. I guess WY might have worse weather than SD, maybe ND as well.

A family from Des Moines moved to Sioux Falls in 1978. Central Iowa pollen and weather was tough on the mother, namely her allergies. Felt better after the move.

You might want to learn the correct pronunciation of the state capital, Pierre. Secondly, as for Farmland, someone needs to feed the nation. If you pave over everything for industry, where do you plan on eating? China? And finally, having lived in several states like Texas, Minnesota, & California I will say they do the best road upkeep here of any state I have been in, and they have the toughest winters. All without state income taxes. As you stated in the video, most of us like it just fine here.

I was born and raised in Sioux Falls and no one I ever came across back then, and now, ever called it Sioux-Foo. First time I ever heard that.

I always kinda counted Rapid City, Sturgis, Spearfish, and Deadwood/Lead as one big spread out community around the Black Hills, they are all relatively close together with even smaller towns sprinkled in between.

The somewhat milder winters of the Rapid City area were not included in the story. The potholes and winters are just as horrible in Minneapolis as they are in Sioux Falls. High state taxes have led to a huge state budget surplus in Minnesota which prompted the state government to raise the state taxes even higher and spend the entire surplus. Give the South Dakota state government credit for showing wise fiscal restraint.

Born and raised in South Dakota. I have moved away twice to large cities Minneapolis and Denver, yet I always came back home. You could divide the state into 2 parts. We call them east river and west river. East river is farmland and more populated, west river is ranch land and sparsely populated until you get to the black hills. I love it here, the winters keep the riff raff out and the summers are amazing. I have travelled every square mile of my state and it never gets old. I invite all of you to come here and visit, enjoy our clean air, our beautiful open spaces, and our friendly demeanor. Come see Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, the Sturgis Motorcycle rally, shop and eat in diverse Sioux Falls. Please spend a week here, even a month. Then listen to me when I say, GO Leave South Dakota untouched. Thanks in advance.

Sioux Falls is mainly medical with so many hospitals and clinics, I never lived in any city with so many per population. I lived in Seattle, Denver and Chicago most of my life and now I live in suburban Sioux Falls. The medical and health industry is the biggest in SF.

Glad that is true. I love the way of life here. But it is growing. People from high tax states are moving here and it is leaving the good neighbor life style.

My niece has been there many years and loves it in Rapid City.
My brother just moved there, doesn't mind the cold, he's retired so he just stays inside!

I survived a direct blast of a tornado in 1967, deadly flood of 1972, stuck in the 2013 blizzard, and I don’t pet the Bison. Rapid City resident for life!
