If I'm ever asked to take one, I'll tell em "no, I don't believe in pseudoscience."

Anybody who would submit to a polygraph, under any circumstances, is a complete fool.

Maybe we stop calling them "lie detector tests."

My partner for a while ( police, not the other kind) was a poly operator in the Army. He said the poly is just a tool used to get a crook to confess. Can’t be used in court.

Polygraphs are easy to beat.. Which is why they aren't admissible

How would extremely low blood pressure effect the test? Would this be a benefit? Or would they assume, I took something? Below is an explanation of just how low.

I have a really low blood pressure. So low that when I have surgery, they put me in the ICU, on monitors, that I always have to have people turn off (not staff, they won't). The last time I was inpatient, it was removing a collection of glands, lymph nodes, and 2.5 inches of tumors from my head, everything combined was about the size of a large fist. I told you this just to let you know the surgeries are extensive, the stitches alone were 12" long. But every time I go to sleep on the monitors, the alarms go off. By day three, I have to leave the hospital, just to get some sleep. This has happened more than once, I've had a a few cancer surgeries and 5 other tumors removed. All at different time.

I would NEVER take a lie detector test, whether innocent or guilty of any charges no matter how small or extreme. Lie detector tests have been proven time and time again over decades to be unreliable and results aren't accepted in most courts of law. For a defendant to decline taking a test is sometimes seen by law enforcement as a type of decision a guilty person would make in an effort to hide guilt. Attorneys will tell you that police jumping to that assumption is wrong and dangerous to the litigation process. Don't let the police intimidate you into taking a lie detector test. They are electronic bugaboos, and attorneys, judges, and court representatives know this.

It's not a lie detector, it is a polygraph. You explained that difference quite well. But calling it a lie detector in the title is misleading. That's like calling a torture rack truth extractor. That's not what it does, it can not detect lies and when tortured enough, you'd confess any crime, they want you to.

What if someone lies to baseline questions

For a result as 'accurate' as a polygraph, one might just as well consult goat entrails or the tea-leaves. They're in no way accurate, and that's why they are inadmissible in court... 👍👍👍👍

You suggested that you both pick out a polygamist?

Polygraphs are for entertainment purposes only. The lawyer is wrong.
