thanks for the video but my problem is when I want to WALK with google maps that large blue navigation arrow can point left, right, backwards or any other combination making it very difficult to understand which direction you need to START or CONTINUE walking in. Even holding the phone vertically (like being fixed on the dashboard of my car) doesn't necessarily mean that the large blue arrow will put straight up along the vertical axis of your phone. So it can be very confusing and you have to START walking in SOME direction and hope you can see the trail you are making by watching your phone(then make adjustments if you are STARTING to walk in the wrong direction. This becomes even more tricky at night or in overcast weather when you don't have the sun to show you which way is N, S, E or W (some of us don't always carry a compass and the compass in your phone doesn't work so well amongst city buildings).
Also quite often even if I am on the correct google maps walking trail that big blue navigation arrow will, for no reason, start to point in any direction except pointing straight up along the axis of the phone making you have to turn the phone around to work out which way to CONTINUE walking....very confusing and dangerous not to get hit by a phone trying to work out from your phone which way to walk.
Sometimes this problem, with getting pointed in the right direction (from the large blue arrow), also happens in your car when the GPS thinks you are parked on the opposite side of the street or down the other crossroad at an intersection if stop or want to start from there.
So does anybody know when you have got no idea where you are (either walking or traveling in a car) and you want to START and KEEP WALKING in the correct direction what can one do (without reaching for the street directory book)?

When I set a location the top icons I seen on your phone for transportation preference doesn't show and it automatically puts the car on the bottom for way of traveling.. why is this?

It will keep you very fit, as it can turn a 15min walk into hours.. I've tried it in Bristol and Bath.. Absolute rubbish!!

How do you get it to tell you the direction? My Google map for walking has no sound
