“I have no time for this”
I’m sure his schedule for the rest of the day was booked

Wow, this guy's even worse at suicide than Sad Larry is.

0:19 The pill container says "INSTANT SUICIDE WARNING: MAY CAUSE DEATH". Wow.

Imagine this old man trying to get to his floor

that's a damn long stairway

Just doing some in my head calculations: assuming he's a typical 170 pound male it'll take him approx. 12 seconds to reach terminal velocity, in which he'll fall 1500 feet, after which he'll far at a constant rate of 120 mph. In the video it appears he fell for a tiny bit over a minute (I'll round down to make it easier) so accordong to that the building he fell from is ~10, 000 feet high. By comparison the Empire State Building is a little over a thousand.

Why did he jump of a building if he had instant Suicide pills 😂😂

He actually thinks he'll find an outlet while falling from a building.

Not gonna lie, this is pretty messed up

After a few seconds of googling and math you find that the human body has an average terminal velocity of 53 m/s. That means Mr. Pants here reaches terminal velocity after just 2.3 seconds. For the rest of the time he falls, he's hurtling at terminal velocity.

If he starts falling at 0:08 and he finishes his fall at 1:08 he falls for 60 s. For the first 2.3 s, while accelerating, he travels 127m. For the remaining 57.3 s he travels a whopping 3058 m.

That means he the building he fell from is at least 3180 m tall. It's probably larger, too, bc he gets impatient even towards the end of his fall. For perspective, the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa, is 828 m tall. And you know what? That isn't even the fun part.

He gets hurled all the way back to the top in 3 s, which means he's traveling at an average velocity of 1060 m/s, or 3816 km/h. The speed of sound is 340.3 m/s. The people in the window wouldn't be laughing, they'd be too preoccupied by the sonic boom destroying their windows and eardrums.

Cartoon physics, never change :)

(edit: fixing some imperial mishaps)

Guess his expectations fell a bit short...

I guess he was just *dying* to do that.

This is why they made the suicide booth in futurama.

Makes me think of Goldilocks and the 3 bears: "First the suicidal man tried the tall building, but it was too tall. Then the suicidal man tried the short building, but it was too short. Finally, the suicidal man tried the medium and it was just right - except for the fact that on his way down he resolved his existential crisis and decided he wanted to live, but it was too late."

Ok guys, hear me out... I can explain *everything*
So, my first thought was to look at the bricks and determine how many were in a section and how many sections he "falls" past and relate it back to the dimensions of redbrick in America. The height of a brick is 0.057m and there are 24 bricks in a section (estimate) and simple multiplication gives us... 1.37m... nope...

Attempt two uses the windows instead, by looking at the windows they are short and wide, and by looking at the frame where the old man meets double death I determined that the window is 0.914m, I then related this to the number of bricks next to the window which were 5 bricks meaning each brick is 0.18m and each section is 4.39m (much more reasonable/arguable).
By observation I saw that he falls past 1.5/second roughly, so acceleration is (4.39x1.5)/1=6.59m/s. The time it show him falling is 60 seconds so 6.59x60=395.4m fall... Then, he does a bungee with his belt and does the SAME TRIP IN 6 BLOODY SECONDS THAT'S AN ACCELERATION OF 65.9m/s...
WITH HIS BELT...
HIS BELT...
His belt?
The average American male weighs 89.8kg, multiply by 6.59m/s you get a force of 591.78N. Stress is force/area, the thickness of a belt is 2mm or 0.002m, the height is 0.034, so the area is 6.8x10^-5, so 591.78/6.8x10^-5=8, 702, 647.06N/m^2... a belt in the US is 1.07m long BUT he uses most of it to tie his neck and the pole, so cut it in half to get 0.536m. The belt extends 1 section and 6 bricks from the pole, take away the length of the belt and divide by the original gives a strain of 0.11...
SO THE YOUNGS MODULUS OF THIS BELT IS 8702647.06/0.11 = (inhale)
79, 114, 973.3N/m^2
THIS IS WORTHLESS I DIDNT NEED TO DO THIS, WHY DID I DO THIS?
Also the force exerted going up is 89.8x65.9 which equals 5917.82N
ANYWAY I DONT EVEN NEED TO DO ANYTHING ELSE, THAT BELT BREAKS PHYSICS, WHY? BECAUSE ITS 100% EFFICIENT AAANNNDDD EXERTED MORE FORCE ON THE WAY UP

HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF THE CONSERVATION OF ENERGY? AIR RESISTANCE? GRAVITY???

(The one braincell somewhere deep within): it's just an animation...
Rest of brain: meh, alright
