Proud to be a Louisianan, and always keep a bottle of Tabasco near by. And not to mention, if you can get your hands on the mash after the sauce is extracted, does amazing for flavoring crawfish/seafood boils.

I grew up 20 miles down the road from Avery Island, I've been there quite a few times. One of the things you've missed on was the aging process which is a pepper mash that sits in white oak barrels for 3 years. One of the best reasons for being close is you can buy wood chips when the barrels are mulched down and makes some damn good smoking wood for BBQ.

What can I say? Louisiana has the best food in the world.

Its amazing how consistent the taste is considering that its grown on 2 continents and numerous countries. My High School never carried it here in the USA, so I bought a new bottle each week for my lunch table friends to share. Good memories.

An old friend of mine said one time that Tabasco doesn’t change the flavor of food it just makes your mouth more willing to taste it.

Tabasco also goes well with MRE’s and keeping yourself awake on long patrols. When they had the little bottles in the MRE’s instead of the ketchup packets I used to keep them in my pocket open it and put a little on my tongue when I needed a little pick me up when all the caffeine was gone.

The best hot sauce there is. I've lived in Louisiana for 55 years and have taken a lot of people to tour Avery Island. It is well worth it.

I grew up eating hot sauce and with the exception of fruit and maybe just a couple other things I put Tabasco on everything. When I go shopping I always pick up a bottle, even if I don't really need it. It doesn't go bad so why not!. And for those late night cravings, a homemade biscuit, thick sausage patty, good slice of tomato and Tabasco sauce does wonders to satisfy them.

I remember getting small bottles of Tabasco sauce in MREs in the army. Guys would trade a lot of stuff to get that little bottle

There's only one thing I don't like about Tabasco : those tiny friggin bottles! I want half pint bottles! Not 2 Oz!

Great stuff. The salt that comes from Avery Island has a unique flavor that undoubtedly contributes to the great flavor. I highly recommend it. Tabasco salt is great on eggs if you can find it.

I grew up on Texas Pete. Then while in the military one of the MREs had Tabasco. I never went back.... Oh, actually I went back once because someone had some... and it was so watered down and flavorless. No wonder I used to used half a bottle as a kid. Haha

While I love spicy hot stuff it may go to extreme because I just can’t get enough capsaicin in my food. I cook for my family every night and I have to be careful, my sons are not the biggest fans of faux heat. My wife loves it too but I can get in trouble there as well sometimes. I am not a huge fan of vinegar based hot sauces and while they can be decent at times I really just loved to grow and dry and crush my own peppers. Cayennes are my favorite but I cannot add enough of this mild but tasty pepper. Jalapeño are so varied per fruit. Two fruits from the same plant can (in my experience be on opposite ends of the heat index) and while a different type of heat than cayenne can be ok. Some fruits like habaneros are have more capsaicin but are much harder to grow and are terrible in taste and texture if the growing season is too dry and too mild if the season is too wet (jalapeños are sometimes like this as well). Ah well life is good if this is all I can bitch about. Love your content Thank You!

My only issue with tobasco is it took me almost 23 years to realize how much I loved it. For as much as I love my hot sauces, I'm surprised I never got into it until recently.

We came across Tabasco sauce the first time in Abu Dhabi, in 1997. I was about 10 years old. I instantly felled in love with it, was my favorite hot sauce on Pizza Hut Pizzas. Went back to Pakistan in 2001, unfortunately we didn't have Tabasco there. These days I'm in Germany and glad to have Tabasco back in my life.
I love the original sauce, recently came across their Habanero sauce and bought it, but didn't like it as much. Although, I like the new level of heat, the strong aromatic quality is what I don't like, maybe it'll pair well with a thing, I haven't tried it with so far. I also tried Jalapeno and Smoked BBQ variants. I liked the Jalapeno one. Nevertheless, I'm glad I have the original one around.

Tabasco hot sauce is sold worldwide. Wasn't mentioned. I saw it being used in Moscow. Now that's international Lousiana Avery Island flavor. I know it's sprinkled on raw oysters too. I love it on fried eggs.

I believe that the spiciest option in their line might be Tabasco Scorpion, available at the store on Avery Island or online. Very hot and tasty.
