What is psychosis ?
Almost one out of every ten people will experience one or more symptoms of psychosis during their lifetime (citation below). Most people don’t know this because society has chosen to mostly avoid discussing this important health condition. I call psychosis the most common problem that no one talks about.
This short lecture will talk about the origin of the concept of psychosis, will discuss why this particular word was chosen, and will talk about what causes it. In this lecture, I will also try to explain how a simple biochemical change in the brain can produce the symptoms of psychosis.
