Its no magic, the algebra equation reveals that d+ Y is the center dustance of 2 identical circles with diameter d and Y is the shortest distance between the 2 circles.

There's another way.

Zero the caliper.

Measure the hole. Then without moving the slide, zero it again.


Measure outside to outside. Less math and great with fine tolerance measurement.


Im trying to verify if i remember how to measure with a height gauge, center point to center point of two different size holes well. Thats how i found you.
