I spent a day with Elton and Bernie when my friend and I were asked to hang around the WMCA studio of Alex Bennett while he taped his talk show. We sat under the engineers booth and didn't know who Elton John was. He and Bernie were sitting next to us and we and two other musicians from New Jersey became Alex's laugh track. Alice Cooper and Neil Smith were his main guests (in fall of 1971 Alice Cooper was in his prime). After they left the studio John and Taupin were interviewed and I was blown away by the rock and roll musicians he had played piano with...we spent the afternoon together and at the end of the day rode down the elevator to the street, said goodbye and they headed for the "tubes", the subway. I had no idea who Elton John was at that time.

In 1970 before Elton played his very first U.S. show, he came to the city of Waterloo, Ontario (Canada) and played six nights at the University of Waterloo's student pub (to a crowd of only a couple of hundred each night). He was so nervous coming to the U.S. that his manager arranged for these "secret" shows to allow Elton to gain confidence before heading to the states.

The Hollywood movie covered this really well and I enjoyed that. Does this just provide additional footage?

You are right, Sir Elton John as you say in this trailer, family is so very important and this being a family channel Disney of all things you say in your song, “it’s never too late : to hell withheaven’s gate”! That’s not something you should be teaching children what a letdown I love you dearly, but clearly you are being misled in your own words: “It’s never too late “; repent.
