Is 'A Minecraft Movie' Canon?

Finally, the long awaited and anticipated release of the Minecraft Movie has happened and it's, an interesting watch to say the least.

Is the movie canon? Could there be any hidden story to it? That (is briefly covered) along with my overall thoughts of the Movie!

I really like the almost reverse-player logic of the Enderman stare in this film. When people play the games and accidentally look at an Enderman they tend to keep staring to keep the Enderman in place. The movie's telepathy scene suggests the players aren't maintaining eye contact willingly, but the Enderman is holding you in place just as much as you're holding him.

2:26 I've seen so many people who kept saying it was "feather falling" or "hermes boots", someone finally said the truth. I once commented on a community post that it is the boot of swiftness from mc dungeons and half of the replies were saying one of these things

Fun fact: The Outer Wall is an extremely rare optional sub-dungeon in Highblock Halls in Minecraft Dungeons, but also the area in the Minecraft Movie server event.

I believe Malgosha had knowledge of the ancient piglin legends, that's why she "re-created" the unbreakable while giving it the name of the Great Hog, and the reason for her knowing about the power and existence of the Orb of Dominance making the Night Beacon.

I think having the orb blue is a good way to keep it separate from the canon orb

I agree alot more with this than other reviews. Most complaints feel like they're made by people actively looking for details to hate or not matching their preset expectations of what a "good" movie aka. deep plot and character design needs. I watched it and was entertained by the jokes and references so I consider it a good movie.

i hope we can get an anthology of Minecraft movies, each one with completely different casts and creative teams, and also with completely different tones

maybe each movie have Steve being played by completely different actors

There's a reason its called *a minecraft movie* and not *the minecraft movie*. I highly doubt its canon and there's no evidence to prove it

Maybe the iron golem beating the movie great hog was Minecraft’s subtle way of telling us that one of the first golems was the one that took down the unbreakable

I believe its canon to itself. Its A minecraft movie, and in the intro steve says its his story. So i assume its canon in the sense of a player starting up a new world

I do have hopes that elements of this movie might get added to minecraft. things like creepers not actually exploding unless disturbed by sudden movements or being hurt, piglins being able to live in the overworld when near nether wart and maybe something more inside the woodland mansion arena rooms. regardless i think this movie is stupidly fun and is everything it aimed to be. it doesn't need to be canon or a definitive representation of the game

I believe the reason why the hoglins were smaller was because they were baby hoglins instead of actual adult hoglins.

The Minecraft movie is isekai, so the Beatles song is at the beginning of the teaser trailer.

Just like movies like the Super Mario movie, the animated Super Mario from Illumination, Jumangi, and the like.

Minecraft creator Notch himself said after watching the trailer that he liked it.

And he said that the game originally had no story because it only came when his co-creator Jebb took over and started expanding it and he's still expanding it so it looks great.

There was this interview on Minecraft live with the reason why it's called A Minecraft Movie and why it's from a movie.

It's one of the Cinematic projects on Netflix, there will be a Minecraft Animated Series and so on.



Minecraft has long been working as a Multiverse and a very good Minecraft Story Mod season 1&2, The most diverse projects from fans and the like fanmade Minecraft books.

Ps it wasn't the tessaract in the MCU in the trailer. But one of the powerful orbs.

In two trailer scenes with Henry & Garret. And then in A Movie Steve and Malgoshe you can see these characters holding or using a blue cube. Which is not Orb of Interactions like was thinking Lee from Film Theory.

I was thinking it that blue cube could be The Orb of Creation from The Well of Faith.

Well of Faith is "pocket" dimension where are this three Divine Beings called Hosts of the Overworld.

Administrators in Minecraft Legends Game which they come from and are known as: Action, Knowledge and Foresight.



Malgoshe is movie and The Seer from Minecraft Legends were using the orange-yellow Orb of Dominance.

This Orb is the evil, corrupting counterpoise from the End Dimension of the Divine Entity Heart of Ender which coraptor Arch Ilager in Minecraft Dungeons.

I think the Vindicators not following Henry in the chest room is maybe because they can't open doors in game, but they chould have made a scene where they try to open it and then just give up comically

5:22 that imitation was so good and I instantly started laughing LOL, I loved that gag too
Initially not liking the movie, I grew over it because of the memes and watching it with my family it was a blast, I was the only one in the whole cinema repeating the memes so I sounded like an insane person but it was worth it

I loved seeing the MC Dungeons references, Boots of Swiftness, Redstone Mountains, and the Boots of Swiftness Golem was SO COOL, I REALLY hope we see it in an MC Game in the future [ahem, MC Dungeons 2]

Technically it is canon, just in a different universe/reality, remember what happened in minecraft legends? A normal minecraft player gets transported into the legends minecraft world. If you think about it this could all be connected through the infinite portals snapshot
