True! And I’m glad you mentioned systems. Those are truly powerful.

If it useless to you then it's important to another. The guy who created spiderman said people laugh when he got that idea but now spidey is spidey

The tools are a guide to help unlock that part of our mind to be more productive. It would be amazing to not have to use these things but over the years especially I’ve realised how difficult it is to do this. A calendar is an example of a simple tool most people use to stay organised. I’m sure a lot of people who are productive couldn’t live without one lol.

Honestly I find all these tools available just confusing. especially because I find writing easier than typing. google calendar with built in reminders and tasks (unfortunately i hear goal and tasks are soon to be removed?) and that even start a bit too much for me
is it easier to use later on? yes
but do i end up not using them because i find it too hard to type down things? also yes

This takes me back to the debate I had with you and Mike a few years ago! Before you build a second brain, have a 1st heart!!

ah - so once again: it's a PARTNERSHIP with our tools. we both work together to get shi done. HOW we use those tools = SYSTEMS

I love this, finally someone is talking outside the box. Phew 😮‍💨 thought I was loosing out on so much, cos I didn’t understand this notion of a thing at all, it didn’t click with me and I have been pressured thinking am loosing out.

You getting a sub for this 😅

Pretty much fully share your observations.👍

This applies not only to notes apps, but task managers too (have spend a bunch of time on those).

I am glad I pretty much always felt happy with Apple Notes for all things notes related and did not do the shift (although I did try briefly few apps, including Notion and felt that there is literally no point for me for some advanced functionality).

As for the task managers - I’ve been on TickTick for around 2 years now or so am not looking for anything else. Have used Wunderlist, than Todoist, than Things 3, than finally got settled on TickTick which “ticked” all the boxes for me including collaboration with some of my colleagues.

Organising notes and other information for sure goes to “non-work” category in my book now.
