Tropicana stadium owners and the Florida Governor was sold a “Pig in a Poke” when the roof salesman said the fiberglass roof could withstand a hurricane force wind.

Weak stadium roof, that's what happens when you build on the cheap

Why would you build a flimsy topped stadium in a hurricane area???? What happened to true engineering?

I'm so glad that no one was hurt.. and to think they got short changed by but not with standing at least another 14 mile per hour winds.

The supplier of those materials have some explaining to do

Explain to me how they were claiming Milton was a Category 3 storm with SUSTAINED winds of 125 mph, yet the top gust actually recorded was only 101 mph. Are they measuring those sustained wind speeds in the stratosphere or something?!?

I think the real miracle is they didn’t use the stadium for shelter. They’d all be gone.

When I see the ugly concrete toilet cover in the marlins stadium at least I know that it can take a hurricane. Tampa bay was sold a bad stadium roof apparently.

Probably shouldn't make the roof out of fabric
