How to Fix Steam Error Failed to Start Game (Missing Executable)

this helped a lot, I have avg, and it's like "WE HAVE FOUND A THREAT ON YOUR PC, WOULD YOU LIKE TO DELETE IT? and then I think there is really a threat on the pc and delete 7 OF MY GMOD FILES

So right now I'm verifying the files and I think I know why I had this whole file problem in the first place, I reset my PC but clicked the "reset PC but keep files" setting. I'm thinking it deleted those game or messed up the files. But steam thinks I still have it installed but this allows me to re-download the files! Thanks man!!!

The first option worked for me. When downloading Survive The Nights it would finish instantly and you could not get it to start. After deleting the appcache I am able to download it. :)

when i validate my Dying Light Demo it says all files successfully validate i think and i launch it and its still failed to start game :( Plan c?

Brought Skyrim Legendary edition from my local retailer and i inserted the disk and downloaded it through Steam and i did the exact process you just did and its still doesnt work.. Any ideas?

i have that problem at a game and i did what u did but i had all files validated, nothing was missing ! and it still doesn.t work

If that dosen't work you can go in properties in the steam libary like he does in this video but instead click local files and then click delete local game content, this wil only delete your game on Pc NOT in your Steam libary and then you can try to download it again.
It worked for me:)

I do it, but still missing excutable message display. I try re download it -> no difference. I try re install MS Visual red. C++ 2013 (C:\Program -> no change. Any other ideas ? Thanks
