Following recent drone bomb attacks in Manipur's Imphal West district that resulted in two deaths and three injuries, the Kuki apex body, Indigenous Tribal Leaders' Forum (ITLF), was prompted to respond after Republic Media Network's Editor-in-Chief, Arnab Goswami, raised questions about potential foreign involvement. Goswami's remarks renewed national attention on the unrest in Manipur.

The ITLF has strongly refuted claims of foreign involvement, including accusations against China and the US, in the Kuki-Zo conflict. The organization issued a statement clarifying that the conflict is solely an ethnic issue between the Meitei and Kuki-Zo communities.
