SPEARED Spadefish & Sheepshead! Catch Clean Cook - Fish Tacos Recipe!

My buddy Adam Mellusi from Movin weight fishing called me up the other day and told me the sheepshead and spadefish were solid at a dive spot he knows. I headed north and we speared some fish for dinner! Spadefish are often overlooked but they make excellent table fare, not as good as the sheepshead, but still great. Plan on seeing more spearfishing videos as we move into summer! Hope you enjoy this catch clean cook!

You should have talked about how sheepshead have and actual gap on both sides of their dorsal fin that makes it much easier to filet. The gap has no scales and it’s almost like it is there just for filleting.

If you want to elevate your taco experience, try heating your tortillas on a comal or on your grill after you’ve cooked your fish! Take it from me (a Hispanic woman) who eats them almost every day lol

Man I can’t wait to one day spearfish! We just caught a 53 pound blue cat here in Texas! Then we went home and cooked a surf and turf with catfish and deer meat!

Hey Viktor the recipe for the Sheepshead and spadefish is awesome, the spadefish you need to take the blood line out fish will taste better also the fish is better fried than cooked on the grill. Hope to see more videos and someday maybe I'll be able to fish with fish with you guys.

We have a light tower about 8-9 miles off of Rudee Inlet, Virginia Beach where during the summer there are Spades galore. We can fish or spearfish, your choice, for fish 7lbs and up. I have also seen AJs and the biggest barracuda I've ever seen. It's lots of fun. FYI, I we were diving with tanks and shooting Spades when a friend, who had borrowed my pole spear had a giant Cuda come up behind him just to check him out. he freaked out and dropped my spear to the bottom. I had to go retrieve it. Luckily the water was only 45 feet deep. Unfortunately the thermocline was about 8 feet from the bottom and the headache from the temperature break was intense.
