Who Was The Dark God that Discoverd the Elves? - Tolkien Explained

The elves didn’t evolve from other creatures in Middle-Earth. They were created. But when they slept for the first few ages of existence, and only woke up when the sky was filled with brighter stars. It was during that time that all the good gods of the world had abandoned Middle-Earth. The elves were left to fend for themselves, and the first god to find them was a dark one…

Hi Theory! I’m checking this video out because I wanted to see how you tackle Middle Earth after I watched your stream with Nerd of the Rings. I pop in here every now and then. I think you actually did a very spot on job with a Tolkien video and I’d love to see more. Hearing your voice with your style of story telling covering one of my favorite franchises is awesome. I think the Middle Earth fandom is something you’d really enjoy as there is so much lore and you don’t really have to read the books to make videos, as I know you’ve said the Tolkien books weren’t really your style. If you are interested is going through the books, I HIGHLY recommend listening to the audio books read by Andy Serkis, the actor who played Gollum as well as Snoke in Star Wars. He does a really great job with them. I would love to see you cover a whole lot more Middle Earth and I think you’d enjoy doing it. Can’t wait to see more!

What's up with calling all Ainu "gods"? There is only one God in Arda, and that's Eru Iluvatar. Not Gandalf, not Sauron, not Melkor. Why? Because he is the ONLY ONE to wield the secret fire, the power of creation. Which is why Tolkien said that Evil cannot create, but may only corrupt.

Theory talking about the Silarillion? A surprise to be sure but a welcome one.

I wouldn't say that The Watcher of the western gate of Moria is a direct spawn of Morgoth, and there are a couple of reasons that may suggest otherwise:
- Ungoliant, Shelob's mother, was not a creation of the Dark titan, but was said to have been created or influenced by the Great darkness of the Void. Ungoliant briefly pledged herself to Melkor, but when she destroyed the leaves of Valinor, she grew so big and powerful that she overcame him, and in order to live, he was rescued by his 7 Balrogs. Thus even before his corruption, species unknown to the Ainu belonged to Arda, and whether they were truly evil is unknown.
- The Watcher's species and exact nature is unknown. In LOTR, Gandalf mentions that there are fouler and darker beasts than Orcs in the depths of Moria, and as The White, while battling the Balrog in the depths of Khazad-Dum, Gandalf says, "The world is gnawed by nameless things. Even Sauron knows them not. They are older than he. Now I have walked there, but I will bring no report to darken the light of day."
Also, The Silmarillion specifies that all of Melkor's servants loathed the water because of the Valar named Ulmo, and that they would only venture on the sea in rare occasions.

Stick to your own area of expertise. The numbers alone prove people literally don’t wanna tune in so stop with your attempt at a YouTube monopoly covering all bases on topics you quite clearly know nothing about. Anyone with money can hire a Tolkien scholar to pump out vids… you can literally tell it’s not your own words? All of this because you wanna be ready for the next biggest show on earth to get those $$$
