The Sony engineers are lucky. Sony lets them do pretty much whatever they want and out match any other manufacturer in virtually all facets. How often does your boss say build and design the best of something, spare no expense? Sony is a major player now!

Bought one of these new back in 2017 and it's bloody brilliant, I've not even considered upgrading! Images are crisp and dynamic range is fantastic! it's a 10/10 camera!

I couldn't be happier. The A7R mkII has replaced both my EOS 6D (Full frame sensor) and EOS 60D (ASP-C size sensor). Both Bodies are for sale now. I have a collection of Sigma lenses 35mm f1, 4. 50mm f1, 4. 10-20mm f3, 5 (ASP-C). 85mm F1, 4. 70-200mm f2, 8. 120-300mm f2, 8. 180mm f2.8.
All of these lenses work with a number of the Sony focusing methods. So happy. What is just so unreal is that the viewfinder shows you what shot will be taken (you can see the effect of stopping up/down). I have waaay more in-focus shots than ever before. This is a dream of a camera. Just be prepared to carry extra batteries!!!

I use vintage manual Takumar lenses and this camera with the focus peaking function makes it a dream to use.

To be honest, I don't really want to know about A7R II, it is just so entertaining to watch you guys.

Kai missed one thing, the real uppercut is that with the use of a third party electronic adapter for Canon, it focuses just as fast as native Sony ones, making Canon bodies virtually irrelevant as you can switch to A7Rii with all your Canon lens, functioning just as well as ever.

MY biggest problem is lens. I really want this camera, though it requires a sharp lens to take advantage of it. I use this rule of thumb, the lens should cost around the same as the camera....
