WHY DOES NO REPORTERS ASK WHAT THEIR EARLIEST MEMORY IS!?

I wonder with such perfect memory, to the point where you remember the sense of touch and smell, how easy it must be to get lost in the past. Like, at that point, how do you distinguish the past from the present if you're reliving the past as if it just happened?

I know one such person. He remembers people by their car numbers and vice versa for all the 5000+ cars registered in our town.

Even police calls him after accidents to find out whose car it was.

He does not save any number to his phone. You tell the number to him once and he remembers it forever. He simply dials from his memory.

He never got recognition as we live in a small city.

it's a curse. imagine the death of your parents 20 years ago and it feels like yesterday. there's a reason why we forget

Why arent these people geniuses? I mean, they could remember every applicable formula they ever learned in math classes to any situation. They could recite any law, even if they just read 1 page a day from a law book. Why arent this people millionaires? Or are they?

Hyperthymesia, also known as piking or hyperthymestic syndrome, is a condition in which an individual possesses a superior autobiographical memory, meaning he or she can recall the vast majority of personal experiences and events in his or her life.

I have it. never knew it was strange that I remember the house I lived in when I was 1 ~ 2 years old, the crib I slept in, the odd scratches on certain parts of it, the neighbors' red van, the white rocks on their driveway, the elementary school across the street, what all the other houses down the street looked like.

it may not be a gift but a curse - some memories are best left forgotten.

Wow, I wish I had that kind of memory! I'd like to see how this affects their work life. What kind of careers do these types of people have? If they can remember everything it seems like they could choose which profession they would like to have so long as they're physically, or mentally capable of doing the job.
