When you walk into the bank, and they recognize you as that coin guy. This is where you want to be with your banks and tellers. I even bring in a big bag of candy for them around xmas every year. Be courteous and polite to all the tellers, and they might even surprise you with a nice find. It's only fair to at least have an account with each bank that you purchase or dump with. Whatever denomination you decide to hunt, learn all you can about varieties and errors in that coinage. I am still watching for one of those 1982 no P dimes or a Henning nickel. Needle in a haystack, but fun to search for.

When I worked the drive through at McDonald's I came across tons of interesting coins that I would swap for my own boring change. When you work back there for 5+hrs a day, you see a lot of cool stuff

Now you got me going through my change jar.

I’ve watched a lot of these coin videos, by far this was the most informative. Most of it I’d picked up already, but good and concise! Kudos.

I just started coin roll hunting so I appreciate the tips! Due to the coin shortage (especially quarters) it’s getting harder to acquire certain denominations! It helps to become friends with your bank teller too! 😁👍

This is a great video for newer roll hunters. I call this being spoon fed with info.

I started last August with $100.00 with quarters. I've been treated very well with my teller ( it helps that she has known me for 50 plus years. Once I've gone through my rolls and if I'm short, I fill them with the left over quarters from my recent pocket change).
I'm still learning. It helps having a magnifying glass, coin roll plastic tubes.
So far I've came across about six 1976 qtrs, my oldest so far (I think) is 1961.
When my pockets get full of change I'll put them aside untill the container gets full, I'll separate them down and eventually wrap them and turn them in.
Glad to meet you Quin.

Much appreciated info. However when mentioning what coins to keep an eye out for, you forgot to mention the west point quarter. Love the vids. Keep em coming .

Great information and thank you for doing this. I'm new to the hobby and, so far, I haven't seen any other channel that outlines coin roll hunting as well as you do. Of course, they all have PLENTY of CRH videos that leave the inexperienced viewer to glean little tidbits here and there. This video just got you a new subscriber. Have a great day!

Another Coinstar tip is that a lot of people forget to check the return slot... Not only does it kick out crusty and stuck together coins, but any denomination that it's not programmed for, domestic or international (dollars, half dollars, Canadian, pesos, yen, rubles, etc.). Occasionally, they will also knock out silver, as the weight is slightly different from common circulated coin. Just a little while back, I found $2-3 in Collectors Edition Silver State Quarters in the return. My first thought was that someone's Grandma is going to be mad. 😂😉

Hi! I’m a bank teller and watched this so I could learn more about what is valuable. We do have a few coin roll hunters who come to my branch and I find it so interesting.

I will say, at my bank at least, we aren’t allowed to take rolled coin from a customer. We just can’t be sure what you filled the roll with or if you shorted us a few cents, and that would reflect back on the bank teller. So we usually have our customers just use our coin machine instead. I’m not sure if this is the same for all banks or just mine, so feel free to enlighten me!

I work at a smaller bank so we might be more lenient, but we definitely order boxes of coins for specific customers. We even keep a large stash of dollar coins for one specific guy! As long as you’re polite, we don’t care what you do. It’s no trouble for us tellers to order coins for you. Also, get in the habit of outright asking your tellers if they have dollar/half dollar coins in their drawer. We usually want to get rid of them :)

I have been CRHunting for over 10 years, mostly do half dollar boxes, $500 per box. I have had as many as 26 boxes in a row of nothing silver. Then may hit silver out of the next 5-10 boxes then back to nothing for many boxes. It is a hobby, nothing anyone is ever going to get rich doing, but I find it fun. Good information on this video....
