What makes the Good News good is forgiveness!!! I have lived a wretched life! And I am forgiven!!! The Lord has forgiven all that evil and made me His child!!! Now that is GOOD NEWS!!!

As a teenager, I went on a "missions trip" to the Navvaho tribe we went to in Nixon, Nevada. I was the only one who handed out New Testaments. The whole thing was a bad scene. These people knew what we were about, and all the coyly warm things that people said and did fell on deaf ears. Can you blame them? They had already heard our schtick, which came not from scripture, but from the flesh.
It's impossible to adequately describe salvation when you are not, yourself, saved. And once you are saved, you should know deep in your person, that GOD did it, not you.
