Dr. Leighton Flowers discusses why passages like this don't fit within the Calvinistic system:

Luke 18:25: “For ait is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

If a work of irresistible grace (pre-faith regeneration) is indeed the mean for faith then what difference would one's wealth make in their conversion? Either they were elected to be regenerated or they weren't. Their wealth would play no part in that process.

Thank you Leighton Flowers. Your fight against Calvinism is knocking out two birds with one stone. This is because all atheists use the arguments from the Calvinists in order to paint the Christian God as a cruel dictator and are rightly appalled by this view. It is an easy argument for atheists to latch onto and they are being totally logical if Calvinistic Christianity is what they are rejecting. This channel helps to point out that this is not the true Christian position, but rather, that God is a loving father who cares for all his children.

About 20 years ago, the realization that faith is NOT a work was the nail in Calvinism's coffin for me. Before that, I'd been a reluctant "both must be true somehow" kind of Reformed type. It was a breath (or a rushing wind😁) of fresh air to finally get rid of Calvinism for good!

So helpful. I get caught because of the semantics and syllogisms that need to be addressed in the exegesis people use. A friend gave a different way to frame and respond. He said, "What did God offer us?" What did God give? He said just reread John 3:16. God gave a person. The Father gave His Son. The Son provides a relationship, not a to-do list. We can't do or earn salvation. We can Enter into a relationship offered by God.

On Calvinism, salvation is either impossible or unavoidable depending on God’s decree. Factors like wealth are utterly irrelevant.

To ask, If this (A) is true, then how can (B) be true?
Logic. If God created some as reprobate damned from tge beginning, why would Satan need to do anything? How can those born corrupted, later be corrupted by satan?

How can anyone not understand the passage? It's simple. Money CAN be an obstacle to salvation.
WHY? Because we are attatched to worldly possessions more than God.

20:18: Good word.
In Calvinism, the parable would make no sense because it would be just as hard for the rich as it would be for the poor, undermining Jesus' point.

Calvinist are like people who have no Common Sense. It is Truly Bizarre. When we understand the Scriptures Properly Christianity makes sense.

Actually the camel through the eye of a needle is a Jewish idiom and it definitely referring to the little door of the gate. And the rider would have to strip off all his heavy burdens, all his stuff, money and leave them to the side to go in. The gates were shut at this time and inaccessible. Learned this from a very good teacher who looks at the Bible as a Jewish book. There are tons of Jewish idioms in scripture and if you know them it really opens up scriptures in a new light and really blows away alot of Calvinism! And they make a lot of sense. One doesn’t have to mar the image of God in order to attribute his almighty power to him, and it seems like that’s what Calvinists do. By having intentions to give God credit for all things, they attribute things to him that actually distorts his image. I love brothers and sisters in Calvinism but their attempts to glorify God ends up taking away from him instead sadly.

vs. 22 - When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.

vs 23 - Then Jesus said to his disciples, "I tell you the truth, *IT IS HARD FOR A RICH MAN TO ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN*


Why is it hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven if unconditional election before the foundation of the world is true?
