Overcoming Barriers to Faith #2 of 5: Evidence for God in Physics & Metaphysics

The St. Mary's Adult Education Committee invites you to the 2016 "Summer School of Faith". This Summer's topic: Christian Apologetics for the 21st Century--Overcoming Modern Barriers to Faith.
This Summer’s lectures focus on overcoming secular obstacles to faith in the 21st Century. These classes are especially helpful in answering fundamental questions, including "Why believe in God at all?"
Class 2 continues the critical examination, begun in Class 1, of the claims of secularists and atheistic physicists and the false opposition of faith and science in today’s culture, by which modern man justifies his agnosticism. Class 2 covers the evidence from physics for a beginning of our Universe, then focuses on classical metaphysics: "that which has as its object being as being" and seeks to uncover "that which constitutes things in their fundamental nature". Drawing on the work of Aristotle, Xeno, Max Planck, Robert Spitzer and others, our lecturer presents the evidence for the existence of God, apart from Divine Revelation, implications about His nature and how the problem of evil or suffering prevents some from rationally evaluating the physical and metaphysical proofs for the existence of God.

Tuesday, July 5th: How to Read the Bible-- Help for Secularists and Curious Christians
Tuesday, July 12th: The Dictatorship of Relativism or True Christian Freedom

Showed this one to my soon-to-be brother-in-law too. He's going to watch it over and over to let it sink in (as I needed to do lol) but he was really interested in the arguments made. We had a deep discussion on philosophy and metaphysics and how we know the existence of God earlier that day so i know he's going to take all of this in!
