I repotted mine in leca, so I am watering more often but new roots are appearing, but do you think I'll lose it?

I'm having a nightmare trying to use terracotta! All ofine have grown mould on the outside of them and I've had to change the plants back over to plastic. Has anyone else had this issue? This was a terracotta pot that also had holes in it.
