Abstract:
In this session, after a very brief overview of the key new features of Virtual I/O Server 3.1, we will concentrate on the process of upgrading to it.
First we will detail the versions of VIOS which are unsupported, which you need to get to (in order to upgrade to 3.1) and the timescales you have to get to VIOS 3.1 .
There are four upgrade methods. These will be covered in detail, including preparation, back out strategies and regression testing.
Note this is a complete overwrite / fresh install so you will end up with a nice shiny new VIOS at the end!
Relevant for AIX/IBM i/Linux environment.
