I have been growing tomatoes for almost 70 years. I have tried every method and they seem to work. One year I gave my daughter some suckers. She didn't have a garden so she put them along her fence among all the grass. She wound up having a better grow than me! Once I saw a beautiful, fruit filled plant growing in a crack in a concrete parking lot! It looked awesome! What can I say?

You are first person I've seen actually knows how to prune a tomato plant. Leaving too many leaves just directs energy into the leaves, gentle pruning of extra leaves give more energy to the fruit. Kudos!
But a note on that for others reading this, pruning may be bad if your growing a tomato outside and you have very hot days-- the leaves shade the tomatoes so pruning for outside plants would depend on your weather.
Others have told me to cut all the suckers off, which makes no sense to me. I did that on a plant, and then it was suddenly over 7 feet tall and only one stalk! Leaving the suckers and letting them flower should give a broader plant and more fruit. I will do as you are doing in this video and choose suckers to leave.
I love this video!

I had 2 little aerogarden tomato plants producing more tomatoes than I could eat for 300 days. Usually I clone new plants, but these got stems too thick for the aerogarden and the plants died. I was giving tomatoes to the neighbors. it was fun.

Yes, I leave some suckers as well. I’ve never grown hydroponically but I may just try it after watching so many of your vids. Nice 👍🏻🌱👍🏻

I’ve hacked of the main stems at like 3ft or more and just thrown them in a bubbler bucked and had roots the next day. That’s how easy tomatoes are.

What is polenating the plant indoors? No need or bugs inside. Please explain. When do yo put this plant outside?

That is a really healthy plant you have produced in a very short time Khang! Is there a taste comparison video in the future as your outdoor plants also come into fruit? Happy Gardening! -Bob...

Thank you for these videos on hydroponics and your experiments! It makes it approachable for those of us that are new to hydroponics or gardening or both! Do you sell the seed for your Khang Starr tomato? I'd love to try it!

Okay, may have to tackle growing tomatoes inside in hydro next. I don't think I'd go with indeterminate as that's too big so I'll have to find a tiny variety. Thanks for the details on trimming and such.

I'm new to all this and am wondering if the plants have to show roots at the bottom of the rockwool before I can put them in a kratky continer or something?
I have a little tomato plant that is about 2 inches tall but no roots show yet.

I've been growing tomatoes with Kratky method. Curious, why did you choose DWC for this one???
