The Switch's existence was confirmed in March 2015 and wouldn't come out for another two years.
The Switch successor's existence was confirmed in May 2024, and therefore, it could very well be another year and a half until the thing's out.

If Switch directs are over, that could mean Switch 2 reveal very soon. Possibly as early as September 18th 2024, they’ll announce the next generation of games and release the console on March 7th 2025 with either 3D Mario or Mario Kart.

Idk why people are still coping about us getting a September direct. They August direct already debunked it and the June direct releasing games for all of 2024 and Early 2025. Also we are getting info on the new games via overview trailers. So no September direct

They said the Switch Successor would be ANNOUNCED sometime this fiscal year. This could mean now, but it could also mean January or February or even March.

I feel like this successor will be announced by the end of the Fiscal year (like February or so), and it’ll release by the end of 2025.
