How to Compute a Wronskian & Linear Independence

Показать описание
This ordinary differential equations tutorial video explains how to compute the Wronskian for a group of functions. We also show how to use the Wronskian to decide if a group of functions is linearly independent on an interval, and we discuss this for each of our examples that we work in the video. We work a couple of 2x2 examples and also a couple of 3x3 examples of computing the Wronskian, showing the determinant process. Wronskians are used often in second-order differential equations to test for linear independence and to find solutions using the method of Variation of Parameters.
