The truth is Benin has been king for over 800 years before the last king Ogiso Oghodoh who is the father of Odududwa wish Benin called Izoduwa.

Correction madam, no one invited Oronmiyan, the Benin’s demanded the return of their King’s son Izoduwa (corrupted by the Yorubas as Oduduwa) however Izoduwa (Oduduwa) was too old to return to Benin so, he sent his only Son Oronmiyan instead. It has been Benin from time immemorial, during the time of Ogiso it could also be call Ighodomigodo. You made some blunders here but it can be forgiven because you obviously have little information about the Great Kingdom of Benin. Shalom.

Please change the tittle from "WHO FOUNDED BENIN EMPIRE" to Edo history.
IZODUWA (ODUDUWA) was edo son sent on exile, Oranmiyan, son of Ekaladerhan (Oduduwa), grandson of Ogiso Owodo
was the first Oba in Edo kingdom. So this was after 36 Ogiso in Edo empire.
Oduduwan did not fall from the sky or from Saudi Arabia.
Benin as name was gotten along side. The real name is Edo
Sankofa. You should know your history.

Another fallacy that needs to be corrected is the acclaimed involvement of the Benin in slavery; the Benin people were entirely against slavery.

this are the Ogiso(kings) before the Oba dynasty that is called Benin

The end of IDU IGODUMIGODU was the beginning of BENIN so when narrating the history of that geographical space called Benin today we should know that it didn't originally started with Benin and the king ship was not Oba, The IDU kingship was known as "OGISO" The end of IDU IGODUMIGODU was the beginning of Benin which the kingship is known as Oba!

Madam don't mislead people in your platform.
Yoruba are afraid of the truth.
Benin don't make noise, Benin have been calling the Yoruba for debate to know who's telling the truth.

Please, Oromiyan did not free the Binis from any oppression, the Binis were not oppressed by anybody before their son Oromiyan returned. They only asked Oromiyan to come and inherit the throne of his father and that was what he did.

Oduduwa is not the founder of Yoruba race. Oduduwa got to Ife in the 11th centuries and meant some people. Yoruba race was created in the 18th century by the British using Bishop Ajayi Crowther. The name "Yoruba/Yariba" was originally used by the Fulanies to describe the people of Oyo.

Point of correction: Benin people were not being oppressed by any group or people when they asked Oduduwa (Ikaladeran) to return home; Benin people asked Oduduwa to come home and sit on the throne of his forefathers because he was the heir apparent to the throne.

Madam, Oudoduwa was ordered to return back to Benin not Orominyan therefore "(neither of them was invited)" stop talking noses. Your PHD should makes learn better about Great Benin. No research as powerful Great Ogiso before great Oba of Benin.

I do not buy the controversy of Indigenous Igodomigodo and Ile-Ibinu syndrome. I was born by two Binis and I am Bini. The Ogiso and Oba dynasties are the same and the Oba dynasty is a continuation of the Ogiso dynasty. They are all the same empire with different epochs. Everybody should renounce any differences. We are all born in Benin and we are all Binis !

This is so misguided, misinformation and vague. There was no one not one oppressed the Benins except for the British invasion. The people were never disenfranchised with Ogisos, rather it was the last Ogiso which his son Ekaladerhan was banished that later became Izoduwa (Oduduwa). Thirdly, it was Igodomigodo, and was once known as Idu the founding father of all South of Nigeria and beyond. The names of Benin have metamorphosis from Idu, Igodomigodo, Ubinu, Benin or Edo. The picture you showed is not Egharevba rather is Oba Akenzua II. The Benin was already ruled by the Ogisos for more than 100's of years before the era of Oba's. Therefore, Oba Eweka I, didn't found Benin Empire. Ekaladerhan Izoduwa (Oduduwa) Benin heir to the throne of his father the last Ogiso is the founder of Ile ife, thus the Benin chiefs went back to him to beg him to return as their King (Oba) in Benin, Oduduwa instead of returning back, gave his son Omônòyan (Oronmiya), he couldn't stay in Benin because, hence he was brought up in lle Ife, he left and said it's only son of the soil that can rule over the Benins, but he impregnated a woman and his son became Oba Eweka I. became the Oba of Benin. However, you are quite correct with the history of the European interest in Nigeria and invaded Benin in other to bring colonization of Nigeria. The British killed millions of Benins, many fled to other parts of Nigeria. Benin was already a country of his own, has their own flags, sent ambassador to Lisbon Portugal. The Benins it's a majority in Nigeria, many tribes such as Esan, Afiema, Esoko, itshekiri, Orohbos, Ogbas, Agbors, Ekwere, many izons, Rivers, Ekiti, Ondo, Onitsha, Bayelsas etc are all Benin ancestors lineage. This narrative is not impressed at all, there's too many lies and half truth. Though I have maximum respect for Mama (Elder). Please, ask your administrator to correct many of these things.

Dear Madam, you almost got the story right, However, Benin NEVER SOLD IN SLAVES. Benin is known as the only empire that resented selling its citizenry into slaves in all the slave-trading kingdoms. We even have IWU MARK ON THE BODY OF ALL BENIN PEOPLE. That is to say, if you see anyone with that body marks, DO NOT HARASS, HAVE HE/SHE IN BONDAGE OR HOSTAGE. The marking on the clothing we now wear as Benin is a symbol of that IWU.

Another where you misstep was saying chicken or the eggs? HOW CAN ALMIGHTY BENIN CALL FOR A FOREIGNER TO COME AND RULE OVER THEM? Please, lady, think, think, think please! You know the truth!!!! The truth is there starring at you in the face, you just refuse to see and say it!
Oduduwa (IZODUWA with full meaning in Benin) was a self-exiled son of Benin. OROMIYAN (OMONOYAN with full meaning in Benin) was the son of IZODUWA!
