I live in Syria, I'm 11, despite the ongoing war here and the bad economic conditions, my dad bought me a violin with 25$ so I can learn how to play. He always says that the only way to forget the war horrors is to listen and play your own music. You are wonderful, Rob. I love you so much

Would be kind of awesome to have an entire orchestra of each musician with the cheapest version of each respected instrument. See how it would sound in the hands of professionals.

On the topic of cheap
Back in the early 90s I was a poor college student and I ended up selling my old clarinet to a music store for $100. I later noticed pawn shops were selling the same clarinets for $70 to $80. I bought a few from pawn shops, sold them to music stores and made a few dollars.
The next year I noticed, in early summer, right after school let out, the pawn shops had various instruments for really cheap. The students that were giving up were pawning their instruments so the pawn shops had a bunch and were selling those instruments for cheap.
I bought as many as I could afford. I then waited until fall, when all the students were starting to go back to school. Buy when demand was low, sell when demand was high.
I then made the rounds to the music stores and sold said instruments. lol I wasn't making a fortune but I was buying 8 or 10 instruments for $60 +/- then waiting 3 months and selling them for $120 +/-. lol Back in the 90s, an extra $500 or $600 was a big deal to a poor college student. Anyways, that was one of my hustles to keep my rent paid and food in my belly while I was in school.

Rob: *Plays cheap violin and makes it sound better than me playing my $600 violin*

Me: "Nice."

Rob: "This sounds like garbage."

Me: *tear rolls down face* "Nice."

I got my violin for about $25 at a garage sale. Came with case, bow, 2 shoulder rests, rosin, and I love it. I did replace the bow, as the adjustment peg was gone, but I’ve had the violin for a couple years, dropped it a couple times, and it’s still looking and sounding beautiful. I think it’s sad that you spent twice what I spent and you got a piece of trash.

Destroying any sort of violin brings me much pain.

I think it’s funny how he demonstrated situations where your instrument could get damaged but he’s not considered most of us violinists would rather break ourselves than let our instruments get even the smallest dent

Good thing you did the blind test, the pink violin got to live another day. It's fate remains undecided.

Even though these are from wish, the durability tests hurt me on a physical level-

I've always wanted to play the violin since I was a little kid. But I could never buy one, not even a cheap one for $ 40. That made me sad now to see how you destroyed them. Found your channel a few days ago and watched a few videos. I love how you surprise people. I am happy to see the facial expressions on the people you surprise. I think it's a great idea to make such videos.
But I don't like looking at the destruction of violins, even if they are cheap.
I love music. Music opens my heart in this world where you have to close it far too often. In my opinion, even a cheap instrument is better than none. Sorry, English is not my main language and I hope you understand me correctly, but I think even a hollow tree trunk is a better drum than none. But otherwise I like your content very much.

So, and now I'll watch a few more videos of you and leave a subscription. ^^

Have a nice day.
