Irpin, Ukraine was one of the hardest-hit areas during the battle of Kyiv. Russian invaders actually controlled parts of the city, and left a wake of destruction in this civilian area.

In response to the question from your video, Irpin is essentially a suburb of Kyiv. It's a residential area where many people live. During the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Russian forces aimed to advance through Irpin to Kyiv. However, they didn't just target Irpin; their goal was to move through it to the capital. The Ukrainian army confronted them in Irpin, leading to intense fighting in that area.

That interview of that Irpin resident at 2:00-3:00 is the reason why I subscribed. Thank you for this perspective.

By now I'm sure that someone has already told you this, but in case you haven't yet heard - the sunflower paintings on the cars are because when the war started, Ukrainian grannies were giving sunflower seeds to the Russian soldiers and then telling them that they hope to see the sunflower grow out of their dead corpse some day.

Nice job. Made me feel like I was there. Your emotional reaction to what you saw there was a great perspective. Keep up the good work!

that short clip in the trees with the lights, where the adult is chasing the child… that really got me.

"Country of contrasts" as you sit with the latte in the war zone, while the frickin sun is shining through really dark clouds. That was nuts.

I met and became friends with several Ukrainians during studies (Erasmus - EU student exchange), and I thought they might have been the outline cheering for the EU, loving USA and being overall super nice people. Seeing your videos makes me question if they were just indeed a good sample of the average Ukrainian youth. And if that's the case it says a lot about Ukrainians - really nice and friendly people.

I'm real late to the comments but, Ukraine is obviously the strongest country in the world due to some of the greatest down to earth people it has. Everyone you talked to was an absolutely beautiful, genuine person.

as an aussie, i really love and find most enlightening, your personal takes from the ground .i know it's just your take at the time, but still appreciate your take . like you observed "it's almost like russia is trying pull ukraine back into it's mess/the dark ages [how often does that happen in life, when we want to move on and get freer/better there's resistance that pops up from within and without ;sometimes we have to be strong enough to go it alone for a season ] when ukraine is trying to move on with it's independence "
big thanks to you for giving us more info from the ground . very important and valuable.helps us not forget these guysin their struggle. and to forget how outrageous this act of putin is. he's a bloody cruel brutal [ bastard (and he probably take my statement as a compliment because he believes he has to be like that to get his needs met .] was my initial reaction but after prayer and reflection we're changing bastard to blind sinner and (pray for those that use and abuse you ) and praying for vlad to be delivered from his blindness and hardness of heart and that he gets his needs met in a kingdom way .
i really pray joe is keeping going with his resolve .put yourself, in their place .
i get incensed with outrage just watching this.

Deep diving on your channel lately. It's good to see this side of you. Being from GA as well, I know you often make a lot of jokes, but it was good to see the empathy and emotion in this one. Keep it up mang!
