nice the way you mounted the control, where did you get the long cable from to go to the cell?

Quick question! Is your pool a 24 feet? I just installed one yesterday but I have no clue about the ph and ppm. So you basically took the water sample to the store and they told you how much to use of each chemical?

I think you have a great set mate. The only thing is be careful with a salt pool with corrosion on the metal parts. I have a 33X54 30, 000 gal pool. Great video.

Word of caution on the "conditioner". I've been a certified pool operator for 8 or 9 years now, and am very experienced with pool water balancing. I've had sales reps try to dump "conditioner" in my pool and tell us we need x number of gallons per week. This is a fallacy, designed to get you to spend more on chemicals. The water conditioner softens the calcium hardness of the water. So when you bought the hardness increaser (calcium chloride), you fixed your water hardness-- but when you add the conditioner, you mess it up again. Always take what chemical suppliers say with a grain of salt. All the chemicals you need are
Salt or chlorine (tablets for chlorinator, liquid for feeder)
Sodium Bicarbonate (literally baking soda) to raise alkalinity
Cyanuric Acid for stabilizer (to keep chlorine active)
Muriatic or Acid to lower pH
Calcium chloride to raise calcium hardness

That said. The algaesides they sell are good for removing algae growth (can also shock the pool [raise chlorine levels way above normal for a short time])

One last word to the wise: when you buy "boost hardness increaser" or "alkalinity up" or "pH lower"... those are the exact same chemicals I listed above, with a different name on the label, sold for 150%-200% of the cost of the chemical. If you buy Sodium Bicarbonate, instead of "boost/ alkalinity up" you save money.

For example, Leslie's pools sells 50lbs of "alkalinity up" for $79.99

A 50lb bag of sodium Bicarbonate costs $38.99

And yet, they are the exact same chemicals 🤔

Can I switch to salt water after opening a chlorine pool. Should be no chlorine left. Or do I have to empty it.

Did you replace the plug and outlet on the Hayward aqua trol to a twist lock? or did it come like that from factory?

the worst part about owning a new pool is watching all these shaky hand held cam rambling videos of existing pool owners

Do you need a special pump/ filter? Or is the one that comes with the pool just fine?
