Or You Can use parallel reverb, making a channel for reverb and one for dry (reverb must be At 100 wet! ), send your instrument To reverb And dry channel only and sidechain The dry to The wet, put a fruity limiter on wet, use The compression mode, select your sidechain And You Then adjust ratio etc. I do It this Way. :) Just another method.

You can do the same thing in FL studio by sidechaining your vocal or instrument to another track with the reverb on the side chained track. Then just toss on fruity limiter go to the compressor tab right click on the side chain square and click the original send from the instrument or vocal. Just adjust the compression ratio and attack and decay, in my personal opinion that's the easier way of doing it. Great tutorial 🔥💯❤️

I just began my music recording journey today, this will make more sense soon..

That’s good and all but my solution is better: Add reverb, add some reverb, then reverberate the reverbs hallway.

You should route it to a seperate channel and use the peak plugin. After that you can eq the reverb seperate to even get a more cleaner and balanced sound

I don't give a shit about anything I watched. I'm just bored and watching everything recommended

Tbh I'm not an EDM producer so sidechaining your reverb to the sound the reverb is on is actually something I've never done before. Neat, will use this.

I like the short and simple helps a lot .. I don’t like sitting thr long videos of people explaining something that would only take a min or less

If you wanna do this in ableton, load the reverb as a send and add a compressor after the reverb in the send. then activate side chain on the compressor and side chain it to the original sound

This basically sidechainig, very useful tip. Can be applied for delay too!!!

It’s always better to use automation imo as it gives you more control and sometimes adding a tiny reverb build towards the end of a bar on a lead and cutting it off when it ends creates a more impactful hit on the next bar

I do the side chaining on delays and kick and bass mostly but I will definitely start using it more on reverb as well

although it’s harder, it’s much better to automate it yourself; you have much more control and the reverb becomes much less messy

What is very important here and I realized this (I don't know if it's a mistake in FL studio or if it was meant), but the peak controller reacts to the gain, not the volume. Try to load it on a sound that's gain is e.g. -20 db. What will happen? - when you put ducking to 100© it will duck only a few dbs.

It’s today that I needed to know this. Was struggling. Thank youuu

Instead guys you can side chain your synth lead to an empty mixer track, put the reverb on it, put it to fully wet, dial in your mix, than add a limiter and use side chain compression on your reverb mixer track easy

Appreciate the explanation! I'm still learning these techniques.✌

I remember that Brooks uses this trick. He shared it in his ‘Boomerang’ masterclass
