Nice one, saved life. Just to add if iphone doesn't update carrier settings or show your number automatically, you can go into iPhone settings>phone> "your number" and can enter whatever number you like, leave it for few seconds to a min, then take sim out and insert in android it will show the number you enter in iPhone.

Luckily, we still had my husband's retired iphone and doing this method worked! My Android "knows" its phone # now and it works! Now, it can make calls and texts. I tried to do all the steps, the number shown in the iPhone, but when I installed the sim in my s22 ultra, the number disappeared. Any other solution?

I don't have an iPhone, but I simply rebooted my phone with the new SIM in it, which said 'unknown', and then it sprang to life!

No need of iphones and all, some samsung phones doesnt allow us to edit number, so put the sim in the phone which can edit number and edit tht number u want to use, and then take the sim back and put it in ur phone and U will seee ur edited number there, so u can register internet banking such types of apps also...thank me later, i just found by now and by myself, it will be usefull for u guys toooo, so maybe if this channel creator pin this comment to top then it will help a lot!

awesome, it worked like charm, but the rescue phone was android, , , not necessarily an iphone!, its working even if the rescue phone is android!!!!
