The jury deliberated for four hours before reaching a verdict in Laurie Shaver's trial. Laurie Shaver was found guilty of second-degree murder in her husband, Michael's, death in 2015. Prosecutors alleged Laurie killed her husband, buried him under a fire pit and concrete slab, then pretended to be him to friends and family using his cell phone and social media account.

Can someone explain these simple things to me? Why did she keep his last name of Shaver. (if allegedly he was abusive, & she killed him) Why wouldn’t she take her new husband’s last name? (it’s apparently she wanted nothing to do with this Michael guy ever again)(at least go back to her maiden name)

& and how did she get remarried? if she never got officially divorced from Michael, & he was never pronounced dead, until recently. I thought without a body, it takes 7 years I get a death certificate.
