I have borrowed a 6 string bass for several months and now don't know if I want to switch back to a my good-old 4 string one.
The versatility. The ability to play chords that actually don't sound like shit.
I'm definitely going to buy me a 6th string bass once I have a budget.

He is absolutely right, but I still cannot get into a five-string. Ah, as with everything else, practice. I think the b string is floppy, so I don't like the feel, and I get disoriented, but with practice, hurdles are overcome.

I’ll stick with a 4. I’ve always preferred a 4 string. If a 5 suites your needs, then great!

Haven't found a 5 that I really like they all sound nasal and fluffy kinda strange and I have topshelf amps hartke and ampeg 4 string sound great though

I have 5 strings P-Bass.
Most of the time only played the top 3 strings (B, E, A).
Wasted the bass so much. 😂

5 string gives you one more string than a 4 string & 6 strings give you 1 more string than a 5 string & 7 string gives you 1 more string than 6 string 8 string gives you 1 more than a 7 string 9 string gives you 1 more string than a 8 string. I still don’t understand
