is there any way to work out the number of solutions in a general case? like the number of solutions for A.sin(B.x+C)+D=0 where A, B, C, D are random constants within the range of [-10, 10]. This is for developing a computer aided assessment for my university final year project. Thanks in advance!

How did you get 5pi/3 after the pi/3? I don't get how you get it?

if your looking for the general solution cant you just do pi/3 + 2pi(k), where k equals all real integers

In the first problem, why do you add 2pi if there if a restriction?

my teacher tried to teach us this in 2 days but i still dont get it. She said something about finding the period in order to know how many solutions we have to find, but I dont understand how. Then she solved this problem: tan(3x)=1 and I thought you had to draw the triangle in QI and QIII so Tangent would be positive, but she only did it w/QI, y? Please help me

Why have you not done same with -1/2 solution?

I think keeping the solutions + 2(pi)(n) is more accurate because it accounts for the infinite cycles

wouldnt 5pi/3 be for negative have cuz its on the left side of the unit circl and on the left side cos is negative... im confused... plz someone explain this to me

Couldn't you just use a half angle identity?
