How To Clean AirPods

For anyone who didn’t know, unless you properly scrub the mesh of the AirPod with a toothbrush, there will always be a very thin layer of wax on the mesh of the airpods which greatly decrease sound quality. My left AirPods sound quality was atrocious until after I used a tooth brush and it very simply brushed off the little bits of wax within the crevices of the airpod mesh and now the sound quality is pretty decent after using that method. Hopefully this helped someone out

Cleaning with Cotten swab (or any cleaning methods really) will push some dirt though the mesh. After it gets behind the mesh you can’t get that out. If you need support from apple and there is dirt behind the mesh, they will not support you. Just found that out today.

Better idea: use poster tack to clean the edges the speaker (also called sticky tack). It pulls the grime out by sticking to it. This won't damage the device like water and sharp tools would.

Wow I'm actually surprised the Apple suggest for you to use a Q-tip verses for you to pay them a few hundred dollars is to clean out your airpods and for them to suggest that it's uncleanable and that you should buy a new pair

also for the pro you can use high concentration isopropyl alcohol on a cotton swab to clean the inside of the case, as it evaporates almost instantly and causes no damage. it’s even used to directly clean the insides of smartphones/computers!
