With 2.8 Blender is finally starting to feel as polished as commercial software. Blender has always been very powerful, but I always felt I was fighting with the UI to do things. Great video. Looking forward to more Blender 2.8 tutorials in the future.

Blender overall and especially the 2.80 release is (IMHO) the most impressive and feature rich application software ever produced by an open source community.

Thank you. I wish that I was better with this. One of the nice things that I usually complain about with a lot of companies is that they don't give their customers choice. One of the great things with this is that they give you "Choice". If you want to keep the old way, it's your choice. If you've been waiting for these changes, it's your choice. Most programs and interfaces force you to follow what they want. I really love how Blender doesn't do that. Thank you sir for bringing this to us!

I've used blender on and off since the NaN days, and while the 2.5 ui changes were huge, 2.80 feels even bigger.
The more I play around with it the more I like it.

This was an emotional roller coaster for me. I have used blender since early 2.49b and it was impossible to learn offhand. Some tutorials helped. Only way to get around was keyboard shortcuts so I learned those fast. Also did I mention I was like, 11 years old when I discovered it? As a hobby I wanted to be able to digitally create anything. Blender was everything I needed to grow my interest and skills. When you mentioned internal was removed, I was very shocked. After you mentioned the ease of use for like, enabling vertex and edge editing at the same time, I was a bit more entusiastic for this release. I really appreciate this video as it opened my brain up to actually upgrading. Im so used to using what works, it usually takes me a while to get into a new blender release. By the way, loved the continuous two point eighty. I chuckled every time.

Thank you - you sold me on 2.80. Truth tell, I downloaded 2.79, and have been reluctant to start learning, as the UI is so unfriendly to me, as a first time user. The new UI seems so much more intuitive to me. While I am brand new at Blender, I have used Raydream Studio/Cararra 3D (long ago), I had a student license version of Cinema 4D, and found it pretty complicated. I even had a student version of Nichimen Mirai, also too complicated. Nichimen Nendo as a subdivisional surface modeler, I became expert at using, and now use Wings 3D for the same thing and still use it. I don't do animation, nor video game design, rather tabletop roleplaying game design. I am a pro freelance map illustrator, and am also a small TTRPG publisher. I'm getting back into 3D, because I need illustrations for sci-fi game products I'm publishing, and cannot really afford to pay artists, so am forced to do it myself (though I enjoy doing it as well). Thank you, again - just downloaed 2.80, and plan to start playing with it tomorrow (after some map commissions I have to do).

that is one thing that blender really should implement, the same short cuts that vegas uses to play, pause, fast forward and fast reverse, it's a lot better for fast visualisation of key frames
