Tropical Storm Helene formed in the northwestern Caribbean Sea on Tuesday, becoming the eighth named storm of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) said the system, formerly known as Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine, developed into a tropical storm in the Caribbean Sea approaching the Gulf of Mexico as showers and thunderstorms became sufficiently organized around the area of low pressure.

Stores are jammed packed in Lake City FL. Traffic horrible. Police everywhere. A mess. I have decided to evacuate.

Seems like 2 hurricanes per year take this same track through central N Florida. Lake City seems to get hit every time.

To those in the path of this storm… I stayed during Ian. I’ll never stay again. All it takes is one time. I’ll never forget the feeling of watching that water go over the sea wall ans the up and over the 6 foot fence across the canal, and the water swallowing over our mailboxes down the road as our road turned into a river. Wild. It was wild. Never again will I stay..

I guess it worked. I left a comment and watched the whole video… hmm 🤔 I might even feel like giving my sister down in Florida a call, too.

Going to be very intense .
Hurricanes don’t like cold water soooo if everyone on the coast from Louisiana all the way to Florida just starts dumping ice cold water into the ocean we should all be fine.
