How To Clean Concrete

How you clean your concrete and what cleaning agents you use depends on what you are trying to clean off the concrete in the first place. One of the most effective ways to clean concrete, if you ask the professionals, is a mild acid wash. If the acid wash is too strong it can strip away too much of the cement component which can weaken the surface layer of the concrete, so use a diluted acid wash.

If oil is what you are trying to clean from your concrete do NOT use an acid wash first. Use a TSP (trisodium phosphate) solution on the oil stains to help break down the oils on the surface and absorbed into the concrete. Then you can continue cleaning all of the concrete with acid washing or with a pressure washer.

A pressure washer is a great way to clean concrete. Choose a tip that is not too aggressive so it does not etch or mar the surface of the concrete. The high pressure water stream can remove a lot of dirt from the concrete surface without chemicals and cleaners needed.

I'm getting into Pressure washing, and thank you. I want to do some contracting work on the side too.

Good evening, maybe a good idea to neutralize the acid with a wash of baking soda? Great video! Rock On!

Jackassery. You wouldn't use acid unless your are trying to etch surface for phosphoric acid is a much better choice than muriatic.

Either way, the BEST way for general cleaning is diluted lye sprayed from battery powered independent sprayer like a Worx.

While still wet, run a low speed buffer on a nylagrit brush....followed by pressure wash.... It's not the tip as much as the pressure choice.

After scrubbing, you don't need much pressure.

Just hit it with a spinner and no higher than 1500 psi.
