Purge to infill should be very handy with this machine

This is honestly a long overdue thing that should be a lot more Available than they currently are

Fantastic preview and finally seeing some of those wild prints!

A cable path that rubs against the filament spool is a far bigger problem than a locking connector! That's a worn cable guaranteed. Needs completely reworking.
This print technology is massively overdue but also sadly half baked. Well done to Tiertime for getting there first. Now let's see an 8 colour version.

*seeing the ribbon cable basically being pulled out of its socket by the filament spool*

*Denholm Reynholm's shocked face*

I honestly don't know how that design made it out of testing...were there any prototypes at all or were their engineers so blown away by the awesomeness of the dual-color-no-purge-tower prints that they didn't notice? Because those prints are awesome, even if white and other very light-colored filaments end up picking up a lot of whatever darker filaments they get paired with.

I can't wait for my Prusa XL.. with 5 heads. Won't quite be as fast as this.. but 5 different colors/materials.. will be so amazing to work with!

Exciting technology. No purge block for dual or coextrusion is technology we've all been hoping to see developed. I tried the Geeetech and was disappointed, although it was an interesting printer. The Cetus looks like an advancement in some directions, although it appears they have work to do to make it truly viable. It's fiercely difficult to achieve with the vast variety of filaments available, but it looks like they have the potential to get closer to succeeding if they Improve the software and firmware. I’m very interested in seeing what happens with the Cetus 2 going forward. Thanks for the detailed video on your first impressions!

I just got mine last week and ran the first demo print off the SD card today. There are pimples from over extrusion but otherwise the little rocket looked amazing. They did move the cable you spoke about so now everything is on the extruded side and doesn’t get in the way of the spool. Clear instructions for initial set up. Only gripe is the QR code they have on the manual for videos…doesn’t work…yet? Great review. I was a very early backer and extremely happy with the product I received.

If the bed had a 4th axis you could rotate the co-extrusion to make some really cool patterns.

Very cool indeed. Great to see innovation and continued development in the 3d printing world

The editing on this intro is *awesome*! Printer looks pretty cool, too! 😂

I'm glad to see development in the multi-material scene. Like, I personally try to use as few "waste parts" as possible (y'know, rafts, supports, purge blocks/lines etc) just because I think one of the most amazing parts of 3D printing is just that, avoiding waste. I understand that in some cases it's unavoidable and yes, there's mitigations like "just print something non-aesthetic as the purge object", but MM purge blocks always felt like just a literal waste, so any progress in that area is, imho, very much appreciated.

Hope they iron out the kinks in the actual machine (like the precarious wiring) but yeah, pretty interested in what the future holds for this concept.

this four coloured Benchy looks wicked! Just how I imagine a Tessaract of a Benchy would look like.

That’s awesome I was literally talking about this on Reddit yesterday, but on my ender 3 V2 if it can even be called an ender now. Edit: I posted this before watching this, my way of printing without purge block or a ooze shield is way different and includes a 2in2 out setup like chimera.

Really interesting concept, even if it does need a little fleshing out to iron out the bugs. Nice to see people pushing the boundaries of what is possible. It makes it more interesting for everybody. Thanks for sharing!

I like it Picasso.

It seems like the slicer still prints the outside of the model before the inside. And if the slicer was changed to print the inside after switching filaments then when it gets to the inside it will be cleaner. You might also find that white and black works fine if white is on the right side vs the left side or vice versa depending the direction the print head is printing.

So it's basically one of those multicolor clicky pens

I sell Tiertimes and there slicer settings are optimize to print there filament which is a little expensive and limited color selection but the print quality can be Fantastic!

I love how honest your reviews, ish, are. Kind of bummed about the heater issue.
Also, once we are done with our upgrades to our CR10 I want to make that dragon. I will keep him in my car and call him Pumpernickel
