It's a pay you now or pay you later moment. Just recognize Taiwan as an independent country and let the chips fall where they fall. If China attacks, defend Taiwan and take China's military out. Trying to take over an independent country is not acceptable. The same could be said for protecting Ukraine from the Russian Invasion.
