Can Hermes EVRi Keep Their Christmas Delivery Promise? | eBay UK Reseller

My Hermes (now EVRi) claimed that they could take parcels by midday on Sat 21st December and still deliver them to customers by Christmas!

Pretty good, I have 2 parcels missing from last week, one from Tuesday and one from Thursday, all by Hermes..Lady desperately wanted Pink Electra bike bell for Christmas, and now is missing since Thursday-not delivered, The second one is marked as delivered but customer claims that its impossible, But Two out of 100 parcels in one month is still good score for me..

I had 29 weekend orders, all were sent Royal Mail 24 and collected from me at 17:00 on Monday 23rd. Every single one was delivered on Tuesday 24th.

I honestly don't know why people use Hermes, their prices are higher on a like for like basis than Royal Mail (at least for me), I pay by the average weight so usually it works out a lot cheaper anyway. I constantly hear bad things about Hermes, from late deliveries, to missing to damaged items.

I even get my mail collected every day.


Royal Mail, for me, are head and shoulders above any other courier.

As you koow Chris I work for RM and a very close friend of mine works for Hermes delivery, both are significantly under pressure. But, I was put on delivery Xmas Eve and I would say 3 out of 5 parcels were delivered, two of the doors I tried did not answer. But Katrina who works for Hermes told me she only had 50 parcels to do on Xmas eve which is nothing compared to what she's had to deal with over the period. Now many reasons why that has not been delivered, if its at depo then it might be in the car/van but data not uploaded or they used the PDA so much that it ran out of battery. Another reason is label got wet and could not be scanned as printer ink smudged, so it was just handed over. People might have not been home and hermes sometimes take back to depo or it might have been a business address that she/he might know is closed. etc.. I think the result is great and I send all my parcels with Hermes and I work for RM, although when I looked thru the depo, the out going midium to large parcels are was cleared of parcels for the area when I left. Good going on hermes. I quite like them but they can have their issues - all depends on how good the final courier guy is imo

What a 1st for MyHermes delivering nearly all parcels before christmas.

Its actually not bad in my book for the time of the year but that makes their % rate 80% so if you had 20 you would have been looking at a possible 4+ non deliveries. The other issue is were they are being delivered since some areas Hermes are great but in others they are not so good which is the main problem with Hermes - They don't work as a collective team like RM
