As an added tip for those NPCs if u are lazy like me and don't want to have to jump back to my base for each pal they want to see, you can capture the NPC and bring them out in your base to interact with them

I found a book for kindling in a chest without completing the pal critics. At that point I was not even aware of them, neither the books nor the critics. But good to know that there is a guaranteed way to get those. 😊

been running dungeons and am way less than the expected 1:11 ratio the code suggests. I only did the one critic (FB) however so I will double back and do the rest just to be sure. I'm glad you showcased what slot the book was in for the drop because the more I run chests the more I think each slot picks from a static table and so we really only have one slot possible to get the book from. Also I believe that the code specifies that there is a difference between random dungeon chests and the two at the end, so I don't believe that we need to open the ones on the way to the alpha boss, just the last two.

Theyre a 1% drop from the big oil rig chest, and a 0.1% drop from all the other oil rig chests, dungeon chests, and supply drops on the new island.

Definitely worth installing a mod if you actually want these books imo. Takes like 50 hours on default settings to get 1 book of a random work type (you can and will get types you dont want and dupes).

What's confusing about these books is if you want to actually use them one dropping from every dungeon run in the end of dungeon chests wouldn't actually be a bad thing. You need so many of them and need to find the right skill books for the right skills. These don't need to be as rare as they are considering you could play the game with max tier skills already by just condensing pals that are already at t4.

Hopefully they make them a guaranteed drop sometime, in 100 hours of playing on the new island I have seen one of these drop from all the supply crates (that I set to 1 for a short while), dungeons and oil rigs I have run lol

Note: the 4th free book is bugged.
Talk at risk of not receiving any. I talked with her, got the pling, should have gotten something but got nothing. So far I notice more people not getting any.
Its either a bug or bad rng i gues. But should make a save incase you get none.

You can also find these books in the Wildlife Sanctuary chests at a super low rate, I’ve only found 1 so far.

Like suppose if we have a maxed out jormuntide with 5 lvl kindling so will this book take us beyond it?

From what I understand the large oil rig chests (Faybreak, and the lvl 60 oil rig) have a 1% drop rate, and the smaller/dungeon chests have .1%

It would be nice to see these in the Medal Merchant's inventory. I think 1, 000 dog coins apiece sounds fair given the fact that you could essentially turn a Teafant into a Jormuntide with them.
