DJI Mavic Mini / How to CALIBRATE the IMU (Tutorial)

In this video, I demonstrate how to calibrate the IMU on the DJI Mavic Mini drone. Calibrating your IMU is a good procedure to execute a couple times a month. As an analogy, it's kind of like changing the oil in your car. It just keeps your drone "healthy" so to speak. Recorded November 2019.

IMU setting can be reset to default once you change battery. Evidence for this is when you set it up for first time, It will be 0 to 95% before you start to move drone to sides and top for full calibration, If you redo IMU it will be set at 95% and only top and sides will be re done, Now if you remove battery and put a another one in and the IMU will be back to 0% when you start it and redo the full calibration.

My Mavic mini keeps getting stuck at 95 percent ? Should I do it outside ?

Hey Dylan, I have a question for you, got my mini 2 last week for christmas, and had it outside the other nite just playing with it in front of my house in the dark and noticed when im landing it, its showing - 2.5 ft when its hovering at about 1.3m above my driveway. Seems like its ok at higher altitudes but its hard to tell when its showing a height of 100 ft if its actually 100 feet in altitude when your standing right below looking straight up. Have tried calibrating the compass and imu twice already, but it still shows negative 2.5 to 3 foot when its hovering at your waistline and im 5 foot 11 inches tall, still flys allright, just annoying knowing it should not be that far out of calibration, any advice would be appreciated, thank you... Dave R PS, it also shows 0 height as soon as it touches down which is correct once it lands.

When laying it on both sides for IMU calibration, my mavic mini lays flat and parallel to the table on one side, and slightly angled to the table on the other side. Is this normal? it's hard to tell from the video

My dji mini 2 isn't holding the falling to one side in the second and I'm not able to hold on to the postiom which it's shown ....What to do ? Please help ke with this....

I have an Gimbal IMU Data Error 40021 after replacing the gimbal cam and ribbon cable due to a crash. Anybody know how to fix this? I know it is a compatiblity issue of some sort. It sucks that the cam is tilted to one side as a result of this error.

Can I calibrate my Mini with any other app other than the DJI Fly? My phone does not support the DJI Fly but does support Litchi and DroneLink. Can IMU be calibrated from Controller or some other way?
