People having side projects is great for them, it means they have so much creativity in them which they cant express with their current band, and it gives us so much more great songs.
Just look at all the great songs he put out with Stone Sour and Solo besides Slipknot and collabs with other artists.
While Metallica only brings out an album ones in a while with the same old sound as ever

Music is art. Not a marriage. And what Corey is doing with Stone Sour and CMFT would absolutely not fit in with what Slipknot is. The guy is making his art.

Corey actually said once that, sometimes, when he writes the musics that come to his head, he evaluates them to figure whether they fit with the language of Slipknot or not. If they don't, it's a Stone Sour song.
