I bought this bike basically because it was so cheap. I'm not a rich man but wanted a new reliable bike and just wanted to get out there on 2 wheels again. it's serving me well so far.

Honda has literally been one of the most trusted and innovative companies for over half a century now. Makes no sense that people question Honda's vision with this bike. They know what they're doing.

I wonder what it be like, if Honda made another 4 cylinder 250, but with modern technology?

Bought mine in March. Looks exactly like the one in the video. Was so good, that I sold my car and now I only have my bike. Have already done 12000k's on it. I love riding, the bike has so much character.

Takegawa makes a high-compression piston kit. (Piston, Cams, Front Sprocket, and ECU
controller.)
Stock compression is 10:7:1
The Takegawa brings it to 12:5:1
The new ECU raises the redline from 10, 500 to 12, 500
The CBR is also about 30-35 lbs lighter than the Ninja

I like everyone busting on this bike.. Yet Honda sells the shit out of these..

Makes complete sense to me,
not having it's nuts revved off makes for a much more durable and fuel efficient engine, and it's being targeted for beginners who really don't need even that much.

Just bought this bike full ABS version & its a sweet little engine smooth as butter with nice usable torque pick your line & throw it in them corners & wind it out pure class love it & have owned higher capacity bikes its not all about CC's on todays roads .

Hi calm down buddy.. This is a beginners bike for US and Europe and a premium bike for thai/indian market. It has to be cheap to produce and frugal and an easy ride with a smooth powerband. .. 23.7 hp on the dyno is not bad for a single cylinder thumper with a moderate bore/stroke ratio..
The 1990 cbr250rr was a high reving 4 cylinder sportsbike, nobody makes small displacement 4 cylinder high performance bikes anymore, , If there was a market maybe...

bad comparison to make(in the future)...between 300Ninja and CBR250R...CBR250R is a durable and well built/made bike, it is not as powerful but it's not bad either. Then there will be one more round of comparison between Honda400R(future) and 300Ninja..we head into a zone of comparable pieces.

Hi, how can i buy this front brake caliper its nice!

google it dude you lose about 20% from the flywheel to the rear wheels that would be about 35 but in the real world they made about 28 rwhp as for being time bombs that they were if ridden on hwy's for long periods they would seize. that said i still think they were a great bike for a 250 4 stroke.

That's not true, 45 crank hp is closer to 40 rwhp, not 28. And the old engines were no time bombs, they still run fine today. I had one only a year ago and it was perfect. I do agree that is was a little extreme for beginners though. Not so much the power but the riding position and lack of comfort. The current model is a better beginners bike.

It sounds like a coffee grinder or electric weed whacker

Do the person doing the dyno account for their weight?

I want to buy this for my fiance but worried about its safety on the highway. Is it fast enough?

rear wheel hp and crank hp are 2 different things 45 crank would be about 28 rwhp. so yes the 1990 would have more power but don't forget it was a inline 4 that revved to 19500 rpms and was a time bomb if ridden for any length at hwy speeds. the new 1 is a single that only revs to 10500 rpms. this is targeted at learner riders. all in all a much better bike.
