‘CONDITIONS NOW LESS OPPRESSIVE FOR GUYANESE FISHERFOLK’ PRES ALI

The Guyana Government continues to lobby its Surinamese counterpart for the fishing licences promised to Guyanese fisherfolk amid recent revelations in the Surinamese Parliament that those licences were indeed promised to Guyana. President Dr. Irfaan Ali, on Tuesday told reporters that the fisherfolk are now facing less oppressive conditions and the local stakeholders are much closer to securing those licences from the Surinamese as well.
