I changed my email "sent from" from the actual email I use to "no-reply" to avoid all the people who reply thinking that we're gonna have a 1:1 conversation.
Unluckily, the deliverability might plummet (still testing that)

That was pretty spot on. Very accurate and to the point. There are so many different things that make a lie, but the main core of it are people's awareness, beliefs, and details of what's going on.

Not to be hsting. I'm only writing this because you're asking.
One thing from Charisma on Command that gave me that feeling of being lied to was the old advertisement for buying access to the program about 4 key emotions that had to be hit in exactly the right order in order to work. What it came across as:
1) this information cannot be found elsewhere, and certainly not for free.
2) social sciences are like exact sciences: do X Y Z and you have a 100% certainty of the outcome.
Neither of these holds true, yet the phrasing and marketing of the product suggested otherwise.

For me a lie is simply preceded by the intended to deceive. This includes omissions and technical truths but allows space to forgive those who might just be misinformed.

If someone make a false statement, there are only two possible explanations: either (1) they're mistaken, or (2) they're lying. Being mistaken means you believe what you said is true, but in reality it's not. Lying means you know what you said isn't true, but you maintain it's true anyway (usually there is some ulterior motive involved).

It’s definitely obvious but there’s something unpleasant about receiving a personal feeling email. It’s not a big deal, and everyone does it, but if feels a little invasive. It’s that same feeling you get when you get pushed an item from Google ads that you just spoke to your spouse about. Again, it’s the state of marketing in the current world, but it feels like a boundary is crossed.

I have always assumed the emails are sent to mass amounts of people, that's why I never reply.

I’d say that’s not a lie, is just manipulation using true statements

The chances of you seeing this comment is pretty low, but if you did, *I hope you have an amazing day.* 🖤

0:50 Why is that not a lie? It doesn’t matter whether or not he understood that you lied to him, it’s still a lie if you told him information that you knew to be false with the intention of feeding him false information. You’re still lying to him, he just didn’t understand the format of the lie.
